Discovering the right church can be challenging.
We understand the many concerns that you may have about visiting a new church. To alleviate some of these concerns, below are some answers to a few questions you might have:
"What time are your services?"
Hopewell Church currently offers two services. The first service starts at 11:00 a.m. and is a traditional worship service. The second service begins at 6 p.m. and is contemporary and casual in style. Therefore, whether you prefer traditional hymns or more contemporary worship songs, we have a service that will fit your worship style. Special services, as well as special speakers and music, are provided throughout the year, i.e. Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, etc.
"What should I wear?"
We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you're joining us and want you to focus more on the service than what you wear. In the summertime, it's not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and short-sleeved shirts. Others prefer to still put on their "Sunday best," and that's fine too! We welcome you no matter how you dress.
"Where do my children go?"
Children are always welcome to participate in worship at Hopewell!!! The greeter will have a "Children's Packet" available at the door which includes crayons and books that kids can enjoy quietly. Many children love to participate as the congregation recites the Lord's Prayer, or join in hymns. Family worship introduces your child to a treasure that will last for eternity!
If your child is not ready to participate in the worship service, Hopewell offers Children's Church at the 11:00 a.m. service that begins directly after the Children's Message. In Children's Church, the children sing, craft, play, and learn about the Bible-- all at their level!!
Most Sundays the nursery is available. Check with the greeter for the status of the nursery when you arrive.
"What is our music like?"
Let by our Music Director, Ellen Stephenson, during the 11 a.m. service, we are blessed to have an adult choir to lead the congregation in traditional hymns and occasional contemporary worship music. During the 6:00 p.m. service, Hopewell provides a rich medley of contemporary worship and praise music.
"Am I expected to put money in the offering?"
If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money into the offering but you are more than welcome to if you desire.
If you consider Hopewell your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving to further the ministry of Hopewell. You can give by check or cash during the service, online through the church website, or by texting "Give" to 866.863-0718.
"What opportunities are there for visitors to get involved with Hopewell?"
Hopewell provides small group opportunities before both the 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. services, as well as Bible Studies and other ministry volunteer opportunities for guests and members alike throughout the week. There are also opportunities to be a part of the service as well as serve with our audio/visual team.
Come join us; you will be welcome in whatever program you decide to be involved in. Please check out our groups on our website for more information.
